“For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again”

(Matthew 7:2)

How quick we are to judge something or someone with a standard we cannot live up to ourselves. When Judah found out about his daughter-in-laws prostitution, his first reaction was, ‘Bring her out and have her burned to death’ (Genesis 38:24) The problem he failed to realize was that he was the one who hired her as a prostitute.

When Nathan came to David, he told David a story about a poor man who had only one sheep that was stolen by a man who had many sheep. David reacted in horror and said, ‘This man who did this deserves to die’ (2 Samuel 12:5) Nathan the prophet calmly replied, ‘You are the man’.

The Pharisees wrongly judged Jesus Christ when they said that He cast devils by the devil. Jesus asked them, ‘By whom do your people drive them out? They will be your judges’ (Matthew 12:27)

Jesus taught His disciples that with the same standard they judged others, they would be judged (Matthew 7:2) It is hard to remove a splinter from someone else’s eye when a log is in your own!

“I will not judge others for God is the greatest judge, He will bring to light the hidden things of the darkness in Jesus Name, Amen.”
