And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.” (2 Chronicles 25:9)

Amaziah learned the lesson of unquestioning obedience (2 Chronicles 25:9) He had already invested 100 talents of silver to hire ungodly mercenary troops from Israel for help in the battle against Edom. Then the Prophet instructed him to refuse any allies not on the Lord’s side, whether or not they had been previously paid!

Amaziah faced a tough choice; whether to lose his investment and follow God, or keep his investment and be on his own. No job, money or investment is as great a loss as that of losing the presence of God. Paul admonishes, ‘Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind’ (Romans 12:2) Life is full of tough decisions in which you must choose God’s will over apparent wealth, fame or strength. In actuality, ‘The Lord can give you much more than that’ (2 Chronicles 25:9)

Never value anything worldly higher than you value being in the peace and rest of God. Choose God’s way, for Romans 8:31 Promises, ‘If God is for you, who can be against you?

“God is the centre of my life and I choose this day to do His will and follow His ways in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.”
