THE FAITH THAT DELIVERS!
“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God”
How sad it is to see a person move from having a tender heart and complete trust in God to having a cold, hard heart and a mind that calculates every move in the natural. Asa began his reign with a mighty victory when he totally relied upon the Lord to defeat the Ethiopians (2 Chronicles 14:11, 12)
At the end of his reign, however, when he had grown old and was no longer childlike in his faith, he hired mercenary soldiers to fight his battles. The prophet rebuked him for his unbelief, reminding him that the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. Asa’s unbelieving attitude was also evident in his later years when he was diseased in his feet and ‘did not seek help from the Lord, but only from the physicians’
Though physicians are helpful, our trust should remain in God as our source of health and healing. How far he had strayed from the time when the whole nation sought the Lord and He gave them ‘rest on every side’. Let us purpose to stay simple, trusting and childlike in our total dependence upon God all of our lives.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“My Trust is in the Lord, He is my strong Tower and refuge in Jesus Name, Amen.”
