Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain. [It is] vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: [for] so he giveth his beloved sleep. Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward. (Psalm 127:1-3)

Your family is a blessing from God and when you pray for your entire family, you put them in God’s care. You have nothing to fear because God will keep them safe. So don’t go to bed worried and anxious at night. Pray for your family and then release them into God’s care. Then go and get some sleep because He will take care of your family 24/7.

He does not expect you to sit up all night. God is the builder of your life and of your house. He watches over all of your ways and sees to it that you are on the right track in life. You do not have to deprive yourself of sleep in order to get Him to move on your behalf. You are a child of the most High God, who is loved by Him and it is He who grants you regular and restful sleep.

He rewards you with children for an inheritance and they are like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior and your quiver is full of them. Therefore you have nothing to fear in life. The principle of this Psalm is that all human efforts are in vain unless they have God’s blessing.

“I refuse to be fearful and anxious. I make a quality decision not to fear in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.”
