“But now put away and rid yourselves [completely] of all these
things: anger, rage, bad feeling toward others, curses and
slander, and foulmouthed abuse and shameful utterances from
your lips!” (Colossians 3:8 – Amplified)

There is no room in your life for sin, especially when you are
constantly renewing your mind with the things of God. As you
spend time in His Word, you will find your actions aligning
themselves with those statutes and having no desire for any kind of
wickedness. The above Scripture is so powerful.

Let us look at the two verses that follow: “Do not lie to one another,
for you have stripped off the old (unregenerate) self with its evil practices,
And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in
the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more perfect
knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who
created it.” Colossians 3:9, 10 Amplified. As Sons of God you have
to put to death all those things that belong to your old, sense-ruled
nature, such as sexual immorality, lust, unholy desires and all greed
and covetousness, which are idolatry.

Though you walked in these ways, you must now rid yourself of
these things. Do not let things such as rage, malice, slander and foul
language go forth from your lips. From now on, speak the truth and
put off your old nature and its practices. You have now put on your
new nature which is being renewed in the knowledge of your

“As God’s chosen son/daughter, I put off all malice and things that belong
to my old, senses ruled nature, Amen.”
