“For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it” (1 Peter 3:10-11)

You are to live in harmony with your brothers and sisters in Christ. To enjoy a peaceful and satisfied life, you are to remain courteous and respectful to others around you. If you desire a long satisfied life, you are to keep your tongue from evil:

“What man [is he that] desireth life, [and] loveth [many] days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD [are] upon the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their cry. The face of the LORD [is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth” Psalm 34:12-16.

Choose to live the God-Kind of life. Make an unyielding decision to keep your tongue from speaking evil things. Let us consider a verse of Scripture in the Book of James: “If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion [is] vain” James 1:26.

As you focus your attention firmly on doing good, you will have peace all around you. Seek peace as a relentless hunter and capture it as a precious prize. This peace will guide you in all of your affairs.

The eyes of my Father never leave me and His ear is always opened to my prayers. I therefore choose to love life and seek peace, Amen.
