Hagar was mistreated by Sarai, so she fled. In the desert, God met her at a spring and asked her, “And He said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where did you come from, and where are you intending to go? And she said, I am running away from my mistress Sarai.” (v.8). When Hagar replied that she was running away from her mistress, He asked her to go back. Hagar called the spring where she met the Angel of God ‘Beer Lahai Roi’, which means “well of the living One who sees me” (via A God who sees – Faith Chronicle – Faith Centre International)
