“At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.” (Matthew11:25) The Salvation that Christ offers cannot be gained by the Wisdom of this World, it requires a simple, childlike willingness to believe. A professor wrote an interesting letter to a daily newspaper in which he stated, “Ordinary believers are taught that certain passages of the Bible are not merely to be read, interpreted and accepted. Rather, the Bible should be ‘interpreted in keeping with life and world-views of the authors as well as the views of modern science.” Such divergent opinions regarding biblical truths could confuse Christians. I find it unsettling when modern-day theologians state that Jonah was never in the stomach of the fish. But it is even more upsetting when they argue that it does not really matter whether Jesus was born of a virgin or not. Perhaps it is time to return to Matthew 18:3 and 19:14 and be willing to believe with childlike faith exactly what has been chronicled in the Word. Stop worrying about biblical facts that you cannot explain, and believe with the Faith of a child that your Bible contains the truth. “I believe in everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets” (Acts 24:14). To this I say, Amen! Prayer for Today – “Heavenly Father, forgive me and enable me to retain my childlike Faith in You in Jesus Name, Amen”. – Faith Centre International
