God Is Not Bound By Time

Published by Wesley Sing on

“Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day.” (2 Peter 3:8 – AMP)

Peter warns believers that in the last day’s scoffers will come who will question the Second Coming of Christ (see 2 Pet 3:3, 4). Peter explains that God’s concept of time differs greatly from ours. To the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. Unlike us, He is not dependent on calendars and watches. The scoffers in Peter’s time thought Jesus would never come. They thought it was just a story.

The truth is that God doesn’t want one soul to be lost and is postponing Jesus’ return till everyone has had the opportunity to be saved. A Great Man of God gave an interesting explanation for why God is not bound by time. God is like an author writing a story, he says. While the author is busy with the novel, he has all the time in the world for each of his characters.

Similarly, God has all the time in the world for each of us. Is God still waiting for you? The Lord wants to give you yet another opportunity to accept His gift of love. If you have accepted Him, make sure that you are prepared for the Second Coming of Christ by living a life completely committed to Him.

Confession For Today

The Lord knows exactly how to rescue me from any trial that I am enduring, as I am destined for victory, in Jesus Name, Name.
