Faith In A Nutshell
“And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” (2 Kings 5:13 – NKJV)
In Naaman we have a striking illustration of the place Faith hold’s in God’s dealing with man. Think first how intense Naaman’s desire was for healing. He would undertake a long journey and humble himself before the Prophet, who did not even come to see Him. In this intense desire for blessing, we have the mark of a strong Faith.
Secondly, He had to give up all opinions to bow to the Word that was given to Him. Faith is often held back by the thought that such a simple thing as accepting God’s Word can bring about a mighty revolution in the heart. Third, Faith submits implicitly to the Word of God: “Wash, and be clean.” At first it might appear futile, but Faith proves itself in obedience. It does not only obey once or twice, but seven times. (2 Kings 5:10)
Taking hold of the simple Word, “Wash and be clean” it finds itself renewed as with the life of a little child (John 13:10). Only unbelief holds us back from the Blessings of God. So, begin to put your Faith to work and enjoy the Blessings of God. Faith in the Word of God propels you forward and gives you the victory.
